Care & Use
Fold a prefolded diaper in thirds or fourths depending on the size prefold you are using. You can fold it the long way or the short way, whichever fits best.

Stuff the prefold into the FB pocket. It should fit up to the snaps in the front.

Lie your baby down with the FB under his/her bottom. Bring the front of the FB up between his/her legs making sure to stretch out the leg elastic fully.

Fasten the leg snaps - then the waist snaps making sure they are snug, but not tight. It is important to have a nice snug fit.

WASHING...
Fuzzi Bunz must be washed after each use. Use a laundry basket, or diaper pail to store dirty Fuzzi Bunz and diapers until wash day. Some prefer to soak dirty diapers in a wet pail.
**If you decide to do this your water should be changed daily**

When removing a dirty FB from your baby shake, or knock any solid bowl movement from the FB. You can rinse any residing BM off the cover if you would like, but this is not necessary. Pull the prefold or insert from the FB before storing. They can all be washed together.

It is not recommended that you let your dirty FB and prefolds / inserts sit too long before washing. Odors may set in.

On wash day, run the dirty FB and diapers in a cold soak. If you do not have a soak cycle, run them through a rinse cycle. If you have already soaked your diapers in a pail, spin out any remaining dirty water.

Wash your diapers in HOT water with a moderate amount of detergent (1/4 - 1/2 of the recommended dose). Use ONLY regular detergent. No pure soap products or mild detergents such as Dreft or Ivory Snow. Also, no bleach, softeners or whitening agents. We recommend using any store brand detergent to wash diapers in. See paragraph below on detergents, if questionable.

An additional rinse can be used for particularly soiled loads. Make sure that your diapers are rinsed clean. Any residue from poop, urine, detergent or vinegar can make your diapers stink!

Cloth prefolds and/or inserts can be air dried or dried in the dryer. These can be dried on high heat. Shrinking will occur upon first washing and drying. They will then become fluffy and absorbent.

FB should not stain. Some diaper rash ointments will stain and care should be taken when using such products if you want your FB to stay nice and stain free.

Do's & Don'ts
  • Do wash your Fuzzi Bunz after each use.
  • Do make sure that there is a snug fit
  • Do make sure that you have the correct size for your baby.
  • Try to keep your Fuzzi Bunz separate from other Velcro® covers you may have. This may wear on the fibers.
  • Do contact the manufacturer if you have any problems
  • Do not use fabric softener or use pure soap products on your Fuzzi Bunz.
  • Do not use mild detergents or softeners.
  • No bleach or exposure to high heat for prolonged periods of time.

A word about "natural" cleaning agents
As noted above, you can not use pure "soap" products on your Fuzzi Bunz because of the coating that they leave. Many "natural" detergents will do the same. We can not name them all because they are numerous but if you buy it in a health food store or have to order it from the internet you can probably group it in this category. Now this is not saying it will not work, if it does that is wonderful - keep using it. If you are using the "natural" cleaning agent and you are having leaking problems you have found your culprit. The problem can be fixed however. Also, of the name brand detergents - "ALL Free and Clear" seems to be a problem as well.

Products people have had problems with using Fuzzi Bunz.

  • Bio-Kleen (liquid and powder)
  • All Free and Clear (Tide and Cheer Free are fine)
  • Dr. Bronners soap
  • Dreft
  • Ivory Snow
**This is not to say these will not work for you - just that a significant amount of people have had leaking problems while using these products**
