Here's where it all starts! Our office computer collects your online orders and emails, with the cordless phone right next to it to take your calls. With phones ringing, faxes coming through, the printer going, the photocopier running, the deliverymen at the door waiting for a signature and ICQ going "oh oh" it's not as peaceful as it looks!

My wrap-around desk is usually piled with orders, returns, new products to review, mail to open, catalogues to be collated, and files to be filed. The "front office" is on my converted front porch, with lots of big windows surrounding two sides and a glass front door. With the bright yellow walls, this sunny room is a pleasure to work in.

Once the invoices are made up, Lea-Anne takes them out to the stockroom (our renovated garage), where she "picks'n packs" the orders. That means she takes your order form, and checks the shelves for the items that you have ordered. Then she packages them all up in a mailing bag or box, weighs and measures, adding shipping, postage and custom labels, getting each order ready to ship.

Our shelving is stacked to the rafters with diapering products! These shelves hold all kinds of Bummis wraps in the baskets, and Babykins All-in-One diapers in the bins underneath. To the left are bins of hemp products, Cotton Kid diapers and lots more. On the bottom shelf are huge bins of Babykins one-size, Terry No-fold, Super Soakers, and Snug-to-fit diapers.

Even more baby products! Bummis nylon totes and diaper pail liners on the top shelf, Snap Vinyl Wraps in the small bins, All-Terry Doublers in the larger bins underneath. On the right-hand shelves are Bravado bras and panties, with Chinese prefolds in the large bins underneath. There are several more shelves of baby products in this room!

Back to my desk in the stockroom, where the orders are processed and credit cards charged. Postal Pick-up is at 3:00 PM, and we must have everything packed up and ready to go by then! More inventory is hanging from pegboards, next to my desk. Aristocrats, Basic Connection pull-ons, all sorts of nursing pads, and some of the patterns we carry.

Once the orders are filled, and the Postal truck has picked the days' packages up, you will still find Catherine hard at work. Designing web-pages, downloading orders, creating invoices, reading the BTLdiapering and Diapering Addicts list mail, catching up with the latest on Amity's Swap board, and answering email, Catherine works at her computer 7 days a week!
