Pampers Soft Care Scented Wipes contains:
Water/Eau/Agua, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Bis-PEG/PPG-16/16 PEG/PPG-16/16 Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Benzyl Alcohol, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Citric Acid, Fragrance/Parfum/Fragancia

That long list of unnatural ingredients causes many parents to think twice about exposing their baby's delicate genitals to those wipes. The drying agent used (even in alcohol-free wipes) can be very harsh on sensitive skin and cause your baby's skin to be more susceptible to rashes. Try, instead, good ol' water and cloth baby wipes. When out'n about, just bring along a spray bottle of water. Works great!

FRUGAL BABY WIPES:

Use old and stained diaper liners and/or diapers as bum-wipes. Store damp cut-up pieces in an old commercial wipe box or a Tupperware® container (leave lid slightly ajar to avoid mustiness). You can use either plain water, mild soap and water (very dilute, not my top choice) or witch hazel to dampen your "wipes". This saves you having to stop by the sink on the way to the change table. You can also keep plain water wetted wipes handy, use a spray bottle with mild soapy water and then rinse with the plain water wipes. We then toss'em in the pail and wash with the diapers.
