The Immunization Debate - Will you vaccinate your child or not?

Although it is virtually impossible to introduce the vaccine debate in a couple of pages, here is an excerpt from Citizens for Healthcare Freedom brochure (from North Carolina, USA) with minor modifications.

...the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) receives 11,000 reports of serious adverse reactions to vaccines annually, including 112+ deaths and the FDA estimates that less than 10% of serious adverse events are reported;

...the U.S. Government's National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program paid out over $100 million last year (and similar sums since 1986 when the program started) from your tax dollars (if you are American) to parents of vaccine injured and killed children;

...a medical study revealed that 1 in 175 children who completed the full DTP (Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus) series suffered "severe reactions", while a doctor's report for attorneys found that 1 in 300 DPT shots resulted in seizures;

...when Japan raised their vaccination age from 2 months to 2 years in the mid 1970s, their incidence of SIDS (crib death) dropped dramatically;

...vaccine "Hot Lots" (ones with disproportionately high death and disability rates) have been repeatedly identified by the (US) National Vaccine Information Center, yet the FDA refuses to recall any of these lots to prevent further deaths and disabilities;

...measles, mumps, small pox, polio and Hib outbreaks have all occurred in highly vaccinated populations, in fact, a measles outbreak occurred in a US Centre for Disease Control-documented 100% vaccinated population;

...72% of pertussis cases in the 1993 Chicago outbreak were fully up to date with their vaccinations, and no one -- whether they were vaccinated or not -- died or went to the intensive care unit;

...childhood diseases decreased 90% between 1850 and 1940 in the US, paralleling improved sanitation, hygienic practices and nutrition well before mandatory vaccination programs;

...infectious disease death rates dropped steadily for decades before vaccination and continued at the same rate after mandatory vaccination;

...in 1962 US Congressional testimony, UNC-Chapel Hill's Head of Biostatistics, Dr. Greenburg, stated that polio increased after the polio vaccine was introduced by 50% from 1957 to 1958 and by 80% from 1958 to 1959 and the statistics were manipulated by the US Public Health Service to give exactly the opposite impression;

...a 60% decline in polio incidence in North Carolina, USA for 1954 was credited to the Salk vaccine, yet no one in the state received a shot until 1955;

...Jonas Salk, inventor of the first [injected] polio vaccine, testified before a Senate subcommittee that nearly all polio outbreaks since 1961 were caused by the second [oral] polio vaccine;

...in 1989, the country of Oman experienced a widespread polio outbreak six months after complete vaccination, and a significant percentage of cases had received the DPT vaccine within the previous 30 days;

...vaccine components include known carcinogens such as thimersol, aluminum phosphate, and formaldehyde;

...other vaccine components include mercury (in other forms besides thimersol), calf and monkey serums;

...the documented long term adverse effects of vaccination include immunological and neurological disorders such as autism, hyperactivity, attention deficit disorders, dyslexia, allergies, cancer, asthma, and other conditions, many of which barely existed 30 years ago before mass vaccination programs;

...health care professionals who suggest reporting vaccine problems they witness may be threatened with losing their jobs...
